Alumni Association Board of Directors

kendra porter Kendra Porter ’00, ’05G is a consultant specializing in fundraising, volunteer management, program development and special events for non-profit organizations. Prior to this role, she was the director of alumni relations and annual giving at Mercy College . She has also worked for the UMass Amherst Alumni Association as assistant director for alumni programs working with various schools and colleges to coordinate alumni events.

Kendra is actively involved in a number of professional and service organizations including: the Stroke of Hope Foundation, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Women in Development, the Association of Development Officers, and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. She is currently aiding in the development of the Youth Institute of Science and Technology, founded by fellow UMass Amherst classmate Shannon Magee, in Ghana, West Africa. 

While a student at UMass Amherst, Kendra participated in the Hospitality and Tourism Management Mentor program and Masters Society, the Black Mass Communications Project, Soul TV Network, American Marketing Association and the National Society of Black Engineers to name a few.

Kendra graduated from UMass Amherst with a bachelor’s degree with individual concentration in promotional marketing management in 2000 and a master’s degree in hospitality and tourism management in 2005. She is an appointed member of the Board of Directors and serves on the Programs and Services Committee. She has been a member of the Alumni Association since 2009.
